Place a Custom Order
Order Availability
For the year of 2025 I will only be able to open my books for custom work on April 30th at 10PST. Orders are taken on a first come, first served basis via email ( grit.lapidary@gmail.com ) and are limited to 30 total slots. I will have a monetary minimum order amount of $400. A client can order multiple pairs to reach that minimum if necessary. We offer ShopPay for those looking to break up the payment of their order. 50% of the payment reserves your material and gets you a spot in my production calendar and as a result is non refundable.
Orders will be added to the queue once payment is received. Due to my current work schedule I will not be able to start working on orders until July 1st. I will do my best to give estimated start times once payments are recieved.
How to Place a Custom Order
The first step in placing a custom order would be getting a breakdown of the dimensions of the piece(s) you would like to order. There are a few videos above that will help guide you through properly measuring your jewelry to ensure the best fit possible. Using a metric ruler or calipers to help get a decent "guesstimate” of the dimensions of your current, comfiest jewelry is highly encouraged. Please take your time with this part and don’t just leave things blank. If you have questions please let me know!
At the bottom of the page you’ll find the order request form. I have provided editable PDFs below that you’ll be able to download, fill out, and include with your submission. Please note that submitting a request is not a confirmation of an order; once I’ve had a chance to look over your request and measurements I’ll contact you to let you know whether or not what you’re wanting is possible, and we’ll move forward from there.
Materials and Pricing
Once we settle on dimensions we can further discuss material options. Please note that I do not offer “tunnels” or “eyelet” style plugs.
I don’t have a large "back stock" of materials; I tend to order just enough rough material for each project I have in my queue. This helps me save space in my workshop and also lets me source super awesome choice cuts of materials and limit waste.
Do you happen to have a material(s) in mind? If you aren't sure what's out there you can always search #thestonedemuhn hashtag on Instagram and it will bring up almost every project I’ve completed over the past 10 years. You can screen cap the ones you love and email them to me for reference. Do keep in mind that each cut is unique and cannot be replicated - I can use it for reference to try and find you something equally as stunning though!
In regards to pricing, I do have base prices for most sizes/shapes but the material will definitely dictate the final price of a project. If you have a budget you'd like to work within let me know ahead of time and I'll see what we can make happen.
Deposits and Payment
Order payments can be paid through invoices sent via Shopify. We do offer ShopPay for those looking to break up their payments to make the purchase a bit easier on the pocket book. Because a large portion of the custom order cost goes to the purchase and time spent acquiring materials, 50% of payments are non refundable if you choose not to go through with your order. Please be certain of your purchase when it comes to size, shape, and material.
Shipping
Shipping cost will be added to the remaining balance once your order is ready. $10-20 for domestic Priority Mail with tracking and insurance, or $25-$75+ for Priority International mail with tracking and insurance. For international orders, you may have to pay an import tax on orders. (I cannot be held liable for such charges)
Because I am a small, one person operation, I can’t accept responsibility for packages that have been stolen, mis-delivered, or lost by the occasionally unreliable USPS, FedEx, or UPS. If you are unfortunate enough to have this happen, email me at grit.lapidary@gmail.com, and I will work with you to find a solution. Please note that due to the incredibly custom nature of my products, I am unable to offer replacements.
