Marcasite is the “sister stone” to pyrite (often referred to as fool’s gold). They have the same chemical makeup but pyrite has a more sturdy, cubic crystalline formation while Marcasite is often found incased in other materials, like this agate, to help stabilize and make it suitable for jewelry.

It’s got all the glimmer without putting too much pressure on the pocket book.
This set has been discounted due to the druzy pocket openings on the wearable surface. Although they are polished smooth they could potentially cause irritation.
